When consume anything that increases your blood sugar levels (basically carbohydrate – from fruits, to wholemeal breads, to sweeties) rise. How quickly they rise relies upon how sugary and simple the foods are i.e. a Mars Bar will increase blood sugar levels far more quickly over a bowl of brown rice.
